An isosceles triangle has angle A 30 degrees greater than angle B. Find all angles of triangle?

We'll recall the fact that an isosceles triangle has two
equal angle. Since the angle A is 30 degrees greater than B, then the equal angles are B
and C.

We also know that the sum of the angles in a
triangle is of 180 degrees, such as:

A + B + C =
180

A = B + 30

B =
C

B + 30 + B + B = 180

3B + 30
= 180

3B = 180 - 30

3B =
150

B = 50 degrees

But
B=C=>C=50 degrees.

A = B + 30 = 50+30 = 80
degrees.

Therefore, the requested angles of
isosceles triangle ABC are: A=80, B=50, C=50
degrees.

In Lord of the Flies, why can't Jack get the pig to stay on the spear?

As Jack experiments with hunting the pigs, he
troubleshoots his difficulties along the way to discover the best possible way for
catching and killing a pig.  One of his issues is that he cannot lodge the spear into
the pig; the spear keeps sliding out.

When Jack meets up
with Ralph in chapter three, Ralph is incensed that nobody is helping him build the
shelters, fully insinuating that if Jack cannot kill a pig, then the least he could do
is to help out around camp.  Instead of acknowledging Ralph's frustration, Jack makes
excuses for his inability to kill a pig:

readability="6">

"But I shall [kill a pig]! Next time! I've got to
get a barb on this spear! We wounded a pig and the spear fell out.  If we could only
make barbs--" (51).

Jack's
quest to improve his hunting technology reveals his ability to think critically and
improvise.  He will devise a barbed spear, and the next hunt will prove
successful.

How do the literary elements serve the theme of the play?Jean-Paul Sartre's No Exit [Huis Clos]

In Jean-Paul Sartre's No Exit. the
philosophy of Existentialism prevails.  Here are some literary
elements.

The motif of
freedom
.

The three characters, Garcin,
Inez, and Estella are all cowardly.  Garcin has a chance for freedom when the door is
opened, but he cannot leave for fear of what lies beyond.  Inez tells Estella to look
into her eyes and see her own reflection when Estella is dismayed that there are no
mirrors, indicating that Estella's existence depends upon the opinions of
others.

Theme of Existential
absurdity

The three characters engage in
conflicts because of their insecurities and fear of freedom.  Inez depends upon Estella,
Estella depends upon Garcin and vice versa.  This fear leads to the absurdity of life,
for one must create one's own existence through freedom and responsibility, according to
Existentialism.

Symbolism

The
garish and tediously overdone Second Empire style room symbolizes the disharmony and
anguish of the three characters.

The bell, which does not
often ring represents their disconnection to the real
world.

The clashing colors of the couches--wine red, livid
green, and blue symbolize the clashing personalities of the
characters.

The door indicates that for the characters
there is no way out as an individual.

The inability to
blink symbolizes "no exit" from the states in which the three find themselves.  "So one
has to live with one's eyes open all the time?" asks
Garcin.

The paper knife symbolizes the futility of Estella
to change what her fate is.  She is already dead and responsible for what her life has
been.

The one-act play follows the classic rule of unity,
action, and place.  There is one setting and a singleness of theme and action toward the
development of this existential theme.

Combine the pair of sentences into one sentence by creating a subordinate relative clause that presents additional information about a noun.The...

Combining simple sentences into a complex sentence
can improve your writing. You are being asked to combine two simple sentences by making
one sentence a subordinate relative clause (or dependent clause) that modifies or
describes a noun in your independent clause. Looking at the first sentence, we can
identify three nouns: comic, technique, and parody. The second sentences tells more
about the comic so we will make this our subordinate clause and place it after the noun
comic in the first sentence. An subordinate clause that describes
is called an adjective clause and is usually introduced by a relative pronoun such as
that, which, or who.

The new, improved sentence will
read:

The comic, who does impressions of
people, uses an old humor technique called
parody.

Explain the confrontation between Edgar Derby and Howard W. Campbell Jr.

Edgar Derby is one of Billy Pilgrim's fellow prisoners of
war.  He seems a decent person and one of the few who understand the effects of war on a
man although he is older and had to pull strings in order to even join the
army.

Howard W. Campbell is an American who lived in
Germany before the war and spread propaganda for the Nazis.  In fact he writes a long
treatise about the inferiority of Americans to Germans.  He tries to recruit some of the
prisoners by referencing their own dirty and sad state.  Derby is the only one who
stands up to him and calls him out on his traitorous
ways.

After the fire bombing of Dresden, Edgar Derby is
executed for stealing a teapot.  Vonnegut is pointing out the absurdity of war and human
behavior.  Thousands of innocent people have been incinerated by American bombs, but
Derby is killed for a petty theft.

What were the social trends during WWII?

Check out the first link below to get a feel for what
family life was like during the war (click on simulation). There were so many big social
changes -women went to work outside the home, which had never happened before, and lead
to a major revolution in who works in the American family; people were encouraged to pay
off debt and save, particularly by buying war bonds. Many things were rationed, leading
to shorter skirts (to save fabric), recipe development and "Victory gardens" to stretch
scarce food and work around shortages of meat, butter, and sugar, and overall creativity
to make things last.

Music, books, and movies tended toward
either a light-hearted tone or patriotic. A big push of government was to encourage
people to keep secrets, so as not to betray any information about troop placement or
movements to the enemy. Letters from soldiers were heavily censored, and workers
employed in defense industries were scrutinized. The US even incarcerated people of
Japanese decent just to make sure they weren't spies. This drive for secrecy led to
paranoia which was a factor in the "Cold War" that occurreed for the two decades after
WWII.

What changes have occurred in the twenty years since the two friends had met in "After Twenty Years"?

In the twenty years since the two friends ate at "Big Joe"
Brady's Restaurant, much has changed. For one thing, the restaurant is no longer in
business as of five years ago. Instead, there is a hardware store in whose doorway
"Silky" Bob lights the fateful cigar. He, too, has great changed. He has gone West and
profited from his ventures. Unfortunately, however, these ventures have not all been
legal. "Silky" Bob is a wanted man.

The other friend
ironically turns out to be the policeman on the beat to whom "Silky" Bob has spoken as
he waits in the doorway. Still a friend, the policeman cannot bring himself to arrest
"Silky" Bob, so he sends a plainclothes man to do the task. When Bob realizes that
"Jimmy" is not really his old friend, the man hands him a letter from Jimmy. While Bob
has changed, Jimmy has not. He is still "the truest staunchest old chap in the
world."
