Write short note on Gynocriticism. ---------------

Gynocriticism, in short, is a type of criticism that takes
the female perspective. It is an expression of ideas and concerns that are uniquely
those of a woman. The term was invented by Elaine Showalter, who described gynocriticism
as a form of literary opinion from a “gynocentric perspective.” In other words, this
type of criticism consciously places women at the center of the opinion that is put
forward.

It is important to make a distinction
between gynocriticism with feminist critique. Although feminist critique analyzes
literature from a woman’s perspective, it still functions within a more balanced
male-female perspective, where the female perspective is used as a form of protest
against the male-dominated norm.

Gynocriticism,
on the other hand, concerns itself with the female perspective without any concern for
concerns or viewpoints beyond its own paradigms.
