Type the sentence that would make the better concluding sentence for that paragraph and indicate which function that concluding sentence...

You need to decide which sentence you feel is best and
why. I can support the use of either of the
possibilities.


If you want the conclusion of the paragraph
to cause the reader to identify with the information and relate it to his/her personal
experience, use the first sentence for the conclusion of the paragraph. It will lead the
reader to consider the ways in which slang is used in his/her vocabulary and the reasons
for that use.


If you want the conclusion of the paragraph
to lead the reader on to the next paragraph and a series of illustrations of different
uses of slang by different group, use the second sentence. It sets up an opportunity to
provide examples of how cultural groups have developed and used their unique slang
languages.
