Pantheism, according to Merriam Webster,
is
a doctrine
that equates God with the forces and laws of the
universe.
Therefore, any work
which equates God as the ultimate creator of all which exists on earth and in the
universe would equate as a pantheistic text.
William
Wordsworth (1770-1850) is a renowned Romantic poet. Typical characteristics of the
themes which lie in Romantic literature encompass the theology which supports Pantheism.
Romantics, and therefore Wordsworth, found nature to be an
integral part of the lives of man.
During Wordsworth's
youth, he was a political radicalist. Later in life, he embraced religious theology and
was known for his commitment to Christianity. Wordsworth was known for stating that he
would lay down his life for the Church and his text Ecclesiastical Sketches
reitterated the fact.
