The first phrase I would identify is contained in the

Here the
narrator describes the event as a mysterious object to be 'unveiled', like a statue or,
of course, a shrouded body. The unveiling is to be done by 'Immortality': titled and
personified. The personification implies a creator unveiling his/her work - perhaps the
hand of God revealing His work. Immortality seems more powerful than
mortality.

would be the first line of the second stanza-

The vastness of
tragedy and loss is being considered here as an immeasurable impact that cannot be
understood - comparable to the vastness of the universe.
