What were Shakespeare's childhood, education, and interests like?

Sadly, there is very little documented factual evidence
concerning the life of William Shakespeare, and events concerning his younger life are
even more obscure. Born in Stratford-upon-Avon (probably on April 23, 1564), he was the
son of John Shakespeare, a glove maker and town alderman who was born in Snitterfield;
and Mary Arden, a farmer's daughter from Warwickshire. One of eight children, William
probably attended King's New School in Stratford, which was just a short walk from his
home. While there, he almost certainly became well-versed in Latin and the classics of
the era. At the age of 18, he married Anne Hathaway, who was eight years his senior.
They had three children together.

Little else is known
about Shakespeare until his name appeared in London theatre notices in 1592. As for his
personal interests, aside from his brilliant writing, it is anyone's
guess.
