In chapter 5 of Lord of the Flies, cite evidence from this chapter of deterioration of democratic rule.I need help please. I dont understand what...

Ralph calls another meeting because he is noticing
behavior among the boys that he doesn't like in regards to the rules he has set up. He
reprimands the boys for not keeping up their hygiene, for not making sure there is
always a supply of drinking water, for not building shelters, and especially for not
making sure the signal fire is always lit, which he keeps emphasizing is the only way
they're going to be rescued. Jack, who wants nothing do to with rules and resents that
this meeting is even happening, is disorderly during the meeting and those who look up
to Jack follow suit. The meeting soon becomes out of control and no attempts by Ralph to
control it are successful. Jack leaves the meeting and some of the boys go with him.
Piggy suggests to Ralph to blow the conch to get the boys to come back, since the conch
was always a symbol of order and rules. Ralph refuses to do so. He is afraid to face the
possibility that the boys won't return if he blows the conch. He'd have to face the
reality that his hold over the group is completely gone and he's not ready to face that
reality yet.
