Evaluate Intelligent design as a scientific theory.

This is a very tricky situation because I do not know
whether your school system actually teaches intelligent design in science or if it is
your teacher's intent to help you understand why intelligent design is not a scientific
theory at all.  Intelligent design is a politically and religiously charged issue in the
United States today and has been for many years.

Perhaps
the best way to approach this is to write about what the scientific method is, which is
to ask a question, generate a hypothesis, conduct an experiment, and then assess the
results of the experiment to see if the hypothesis is supported or unsupported.  Once
you have a firm handle on the steps involved in the scientific method, I think you will
see the impossibility of applying that method to a theory that has as its premise a
religious belief.  A discussion of that problem might be what your teacher
wants.

Good luck!
