facts and statistics you offer would tend to support the topic sentence. The topic
sentence tells us that poodles are popular and goes on to say that even though this is
true, large dogs are generally more popular than small
dogs.
To support this statement, you need to use
statistics that prove it. First, note the number of purebred poodles. It is the
highest number shown, which proves the point of the topic sentence. Next, look at which
of the breeds of dogs listed are big and which are small. Of these, only poodles and
cocker spaniels are small. This shows us that, overall, large purebred dogs are more
popular even if poodles are the most popular single breed of
dogs.
