What was the Trigger/Inciting Incident in the story of the speckled band and also what was the crisis point in the story .I want to know what was...

The trigger or beginning of the mystery is when Helen
Stoner comes to Sherlock Holme's home terrified.  She tells her story and this intrigues
Sherlock to start his investigation.

The crisis or climax
of the story is when Sherlock and Dr. Watson are staying in Helen Stoner's room. They
have sent her to stay in her old bedroom.   They hear a whistle and Sherlock finds out
that the bell pull is actually a means for a snake to make its way into the bed. Dr.
Roylett had sent it through the ventilator to kill Julia, and now he was doing the same
thing to Helen.  Sherlock jumps up and hits it repeatedly until it retreats back into
the ventilator and back to Dr. Roylett's room.  Because it is agitated, it bites Dr.
Roylett and he dies an ugly death. The speckled band was actually a deadly
snake.
