What is the name of the fabricator of the stained glass windows at the Washington National Cathedral?

Dieter Goldkuhle (1938-2011)
was the primary fabricator of the famed stained glass windows in the Washington National
Cathedral. Goldkuhle began work on the Cathedral glass in 1966; in addition to
fabricating and installing the windows, he was the chief preservationist for more than
four decades until his recent death earlier this year. Goldkuhle created more than 60 of
the stained glass windows found in the Cathedral, including the most famous: the
"Creation" in the West Rose Window. Goldkuhle, a native of Weidenbruck, Germany, also
fabricated more than half of the clerestory windows in the
Cathedral.

Goldkuhle began work on the Cathedral after
meeting Ervin Bossanyi, who created the Wilson Bay window in the Cathedral. Goldkuhle
eventually teamed with fellow stained glass artist Rowan LeCompte to complete the
"Transfiguration" window (1967). Goldkuhle's work can also be seen in the Duke
University Chapel; the the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History
and the National Museum of American Art; and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Goldkuhle's
son, Guido, has followed his father in the field of stained glass
fabrication.
