I would look to the commands of Jesus that direct
Christians to care for each other, and in particular to care for others in need. The
psychological and emotional needs of those suffering with PTSD would certainly be
recognized by Christ as hurts that demanded recognition, support, and caring love. Your
thesis could present the stand that Christian counseling is needed in response to
Christ's direction and could follow up with a presentation of ways in which Christian
counseling could be beneficial in treating PTSD - helping victims to find resolution
through acceptance of God's role in the events, supporting the victims as they work
through the trauma and find new ways of expressing their grief, encouraging expressions
of positive living and hope for those who have survived, and so
on.
