I know that multiple men were involved in some way or another with writing the U.S. constitution, but who wrote the majority of it?

The U.S constitution was drafted and created during the
constitutional convention in Philadelphia in 1787. A number of men were involved in
crafting the ideas of the U.S constitution, including John Adams, Benjamin Franklin,
Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, etc. However, James Madison is known as the "father of
the constitution" because of his heavy role in forming the important compromises and his
role as author of the U.S Bill of Rights. As the delegate from Virginia a large and
powerful state at the time, Madison had a very strong influence on the document. In
addition, a man named Gouverneur Morris is credited with the literal writing of most of
the document, and is believed to have penned the first line. "We the People of the
United States, in order to form a more perfect union ... "
